Lift served Turns, Rumors and a Movie

No matter who you are, the season is officially here. Copper and Keystone opened last Friday with very good early season skiing. No strip of death, actual runs were open and although the snowpack was thin, it was plenty skiing to get your early season legs back.

The warm temps this week isn't exacty what we had in mind but with a little luck, this weekend could help out the snowpack little by little.

Jumping on the McConkey Spatula bandwagon, Salomon and Head are rumored to have reverse camber, reverse sidecut skis in theworks joining Goode, Armada, DP, K2 and others who already have these very unique skis in production.

Although information is scarce, Salomon is rumored to have 3 models slated for delivery mid-season while Head has rumored to put hold on the new Jon pro model due to Jon's love of the Spatula-eske ski he was on part of last year.

We'll see what happens, in the meantime, I'm looking for some Spats!

Lastly, for those Jackson fans, TGR is about to release a Jackson only movie titled "The Big One". This movie is to chronicle the past 10 years of Jackson. Should be worth checking out as Jackson is THE legendery place for big mountain skiers harboring the likes of Seth Morrison, the belated Doug Coombs, Micah Black and many others through the past 10 years.

Ahead of it's time?

Boulder, CO-In an unassuming strip shopping center lies one of the most progressive ski shops in the country. Run by Josh Bryant, Jibij is without a doubt the only of its kind here on the Front Range. Jibij caters exclusively to freeskiing, carrying the products that are pushing the sport. If you have watched any sort of ski move the past 5 years, it's clear skiing is no longer what it used to be, Jibij is one of the few shops to fully recognize and support this movement. Be sure to listen to what Josh had to say in our November Powdercast. Check the shop out at www.jibij.com.
